This page explains what information Claim Classifier collects when you use it, and what happens to it.
What we collect
- The text you submit. When you paste a claim to be classified, that text is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a classification. We keep a record of submitted claims and their results, as described below.
- Your IP address. Used only to apply rate limits (caps on how many claims can be checked per hour and per day from one address), to prevent abuse. It is not stored as part of any permanent record tied to a claim.
We do not require accounts, logins, or any personal information (name, email, etc.) to use the classifier itself. If you choose to support the project financially via the links on this site, that payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we do not see or store your card details.
Who we share it with
- Anthropic processes the claim text you submit, as the AI provider generating each classification.
- Render, our hosting provider, processes requests (including IP addresses) as a normal part of running the site.
- Stripe processes any voluntary payment you choose to make, if you use one of the support links.
We do not sell your data, and do not share it with anyone else beyond what's needed to operate the site as described above.
How long we keep it
- Classification results are cached for up to 30 days to avoid repeat processing of the same claim, and this period resets each time the same claim is asked again.
- A private log of submitted claims and their results is kept indefinitely, for internal review and to generate periodic summaries (e.g. "most-questioned claims" write-ups).
- Some claims from that log may be selected for publication in the public archive. Published entries remain visible until removed (see below).
Your choices
If a published claim concerns you — for example, if it names you, quotes you, or you believe it should be reviewed or removed — contact us and we'll review the request. We reserve the right to publish, decline to publish, or remove any entry at our discretion.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not currently use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers. If that changes in the future (for example, if we add advertising), this policy will be updated accordingly, and any required consent will be requested at that time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
